This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to deal with the application submitted by the petitioner on 13.08.2024 wherein the petitioner is seeking for transfer of patta in his name with respect to the subject property.

2. Heard Mr.Y.Kaja Navas, learned counsel for petitioner and Mr.S.Jayachandran, learned Government Advocate appearing for respondent.

3. The petitioner is claiming right over the subject property by virtue of a registered sale deed dated 24.07.1996 registered as document No.2432 of 1996. Originally, patta was granted in the name of the petitioner and his mother. After the demise of the petitioner's mother, there was a partition between the petitioner and his sister through a partition deed, which was registered as document No.5296 of 2022. Thereafter, the petitioner submitted an application on 13.08.2024 seeking for sub-division and for issuance of patta in his name. Since the same was not acted upon, the present writ petition has been filed.

4. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the 2/4

case and the materials placed before this Court, there shall be a direction to the respondent to deal with the application submitted by the petitioner on 13.08.2024 and pass necessary orders within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
