.. Respondents Prayer: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent to consider and dispose of the Revision Petition dated 27.01.2020 pending before him on merits within the prescribed time limit.

ORDER

By consent of both the learned counsels appearing for the parties concerned, the present writ petition is taken up for disposal.

2. The relief sought for in the writ petition is for a direction to the 1st respondent to dispose of the Revision Petition dated 27.01.2020

The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that while the petitioner was working as Office Assistant in Taluk Office, Karur, he was placed under suspension on 27.04.2018 on the ground that he secured appointment by producing bogus 8th standard certificate. Disciplinary proceedings were initiated by issuing charge memo dated 27.04.2018 and based on the enquiry report dated 01.10.2018 submitted by the enquiry officer, the 3rd respondent has passed final order dated 31.07.2019, imposing https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

punishment of dismissal from service. Aggrieved by the said punishment order, the petitioner has preferred revision petition dated 27.01.2020 before the 1st respondent. The said revision petition is still pending before the 1st respondent, hence the present writ petition.

4. The learned Government Advocate, on instructions would submit that the said revision petition is still pending and the same will be considered and orders will be passed by the 1st respondent ,within a time frame as fixed by this Court.

5. Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsels on either side and in view of the limited prayer sought for by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court, without expressing any opinion and without going into merits of the case, is inclined to direct the 1st respondent to consider the revision petition dated 27.01.2020 filed by the petitioner and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above directions, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
