(Order of the court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.) This miscellaneous petition has been filed to condone the delay of 781 days in filing the writ appeal.

The learned Counsel for the respondents strenuously raised an objection by stating that the delay is not condonable.

However, the fact remains that valuable Government land is the subject matter and public interest is involved. The land situate outskirts of Chennai City and therefore public interest involved deserves to be adjudicated on merits.

Accordingly, delay stands condoned and this Miscellaneous Petition is ordered.
