A.No.3239 of 2019 O.P.No. 866 of 2016 The prayer sought for herein is to extend the mandate of the learned Arbitrator to decide the disputes and differences which are the subject matter of reference and to pass the award.

2. Heard Mr.M.K.Kabir, learned Senior Counsel appearing for the applicant and Mr.R.Ganesh Babu, learned counsel appearing for the respondents.

3. The mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal expired on 31.03.2019, within which, the arbitration proceedings has reached the stage of arguments by both the learned counsel. Therefore, if the time is extended reasonably, the Arbitral Tribunal can complete and conclude the arbitration proceedings.

4. Considering the said factual matrix made out by the learned counsel appearing for both sides, this Court is inclined to extend the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal for a further period of six months from 01.04.2019, within which period, it is expected that the arbitration proceedings would be concluded and final award would be

passed.
