With the consent of both sides, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. This writ petition is filed to direct the respondent to conduct the enquiry and pass the Arbitral Award in Na.Ka.[Arbit.A2]/30571/2019 on the file of the respondent within a time frame fixed by this Court.

3. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent and perused the materials available on record.

4. The case of the petitioner is that the land of the petitioner has been acquired by the Government for widening the existing two-lane and improving the same to a four-lane carriageway in the State of Tamil Nadu and Union Territory Puducherry and compensation has also been awarded. Challenging the same, the petitioner has filed an appeal before the respondent as per Section 3G[5] of the National Highways Act 1956 and the same has been numbered as Na.Ka. [Arbit A2]/30571/2019. The grievance of the petitioner is that the no enquiry has been conducted and the appeal is pending without any progress. Hence, the present Writ Petition.

5. Considering the limited relief sought for in this writ petition, there shall be a direction to the respondent to dispose of the appeal filed in 2/4

Na.Ka.[Arbit.A2]/30571/2019 and pass an award in accordance with law within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
