O R D E R

(This case has been heard through video conference) The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 294(b), 307 IPC and 3(1) of TNPPDL Act, in Crime No.54 of 2020, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that on 23.03.2020 due to previous enmity, the petitioner along with other accused assaulted the defacto complainant with machete and caused injuries and also caused damage to the windshield of the car. Hence, the complaint.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution and he has been falsely implicated in this case and the co-accused was arrested by the respondent police and he has been enlarged on bail by the learned Principal District Sessions Judge, Thiruvallur. He would further submit that this is the second anticipatory bail application and the earlier application was dismissed by this Hon'ble Court on 05.06.2020 in Crl.OP.No. 8182 of 2020. Hence, he prays for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that the petitioner is arrayed as A1. The petitioner along with other accused assaulted the defacto complainant with machete and caused https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

injuries and also caused damage to the car. He would further submit that there are seven previous cases pending against the petitioner and the investigation is pending. He further submitted that there is no change of circumstances, hence, he opposed for the grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. Taking note of the fact that seven previous cases are pending against the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
