Prayer:- Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to give permission to the petitioner to conduct a cultural program scheduled to be held on 01.07.2015 at "Arulmigu Shri Mariamman Temple" at V. Mannarpalayam, Valapadi Taluk, Salem District by considering the petitioners representation dated 22.06.2015. Petitioner :

By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner claims to be a resident of V. Mannarpalayam Village, Valapadi Taluk, Salem District and one of the members of the Festival Organizing Committee of Arulmigu Shri Mariamman Temple. This year the temple festival is set to take place on 01.07.2015. During the temple festival, according to the petitioner, the organizing committee decided to conduct cultural programme which includes songs and dance and in this regard, the petitioner submitted a representation/application dated 22.06.2015 to the respondent seeking to permit them to conduct the programme as stated above. Since he has not been favoured with any response, he has come forward with this writ petition.

The learned counsel for the petitioner would, on instructions, submit that while conducting the temple festival, cultural and dance programmes will be performed peacefully and there will not be any vulgarity or obscenity or law and order problem. Hence, the learned counsel prays for appropriate orders.

4. Mr.V.Subbiah, learned Special Government Pleader, who accepts notice for the respondent, would submit that within a specified time the application/representation of the petitioner will be considered and disposed of.

5. In the above facts and circumstances, this court, without going into the merits of the claim projected by the petitioner, directs the respondent to to consider the petitioner's application/representation dated 22.06.2015 in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders on the same on or before 01.07.2015 and communicate the decision taken to the petitioner. This writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of.
