This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the respondent to pay the petitioner interest at the rate of 18% per annum for the period of delay from 01.05.2023 to 11.02.2025 in paying the amounts paid towards his terminal benefits namely EPF Employee's Contribution, Gratuity and Encashment of leaves/already surrendered earned leaves.
2. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent submitted that the respondent would pay the eligible amount to the petitioner with interest @ 6% p.a.
3. The respondent may examine the Service Register of the petitioner and examine the eligible amount payable to him and pay the same with 6% interest p.a. from the date of retirement till the date of actual disbursement. The entire exercise shall be completed within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 2/4
4. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
