Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, for issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the demand of the petitioners for enhancing the electricity from 5 HP to 10 HP as made out in their representation, dated 31.03.2016, pertaining to connection No.585 in the Devanampalayam Village, Pollachi Taluk, Coimbatore District, under the control of the third respondent.

The petitioners have filed this Writ Petition seeking for issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the respondents to consider their demand for enhancing the electric power from 5 HP to 10 HP as made out in their representation, dated 31.03.2016, pertaining to connection

No.585 in the Devanampalayam Village, Pollachi Taluk, Coimbatore District, under the control of the third respondent.

Heard Mr.P.Ulaganathan, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.S.K.Raameshwar, learned Standing Counsel, accepting notice for respondents. With the consent of parties, the main Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission. According to the petitioner, he has submitted necessary application for additional load of electricity, and the same is still pending. Since there was no response to such request, the petitioners have made a representation, dated 31.03.2016, to the third respondent. Since the same evoked no response, the petitioners are before this Court, with this Writ Petition seeking for the aforesaid relief.

In the light of the above, without going into the merits of the petitioners' claim, there will be a direction to the third respondent to consider the petitioners' representation, dated 31.03.2016, on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
