ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the second respondent to provide new electricity service connection for domestic residential purpose to the petitioner's house situated in Old S.No. 106/8 (part) New S.No. 419/1 measuring to an extent of 11316 sq.ft (26 cents) at Kolathur Village, Vandalur Taluk, Chengalpattu District.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side. With the consent of both sides, the Writ Petition is taken up for hearing at the admission stage itself.

3. It is the case of the petitioner that the petitioner owned the subject property which is classified as village natham from one Vedhachalam through an unregistered sale deed on 05.02.1962 and is in possession and enjoyment of the said property since then by constructing a hut and also paying necessary house tax but there is no electricity service connection in the said house. Now due to age difficulties, she applied for a new electricity service connection to the said subject property to the second respondent, however there was no response and hence, the present Writ Petition.

4. In view of the limited prayer sought for by the petitioner in this Writ Petition, there shall be a direction to the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 14.03.2026 and to pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
