O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the second respondent to issue legal heirship certificate to the petitioner on the demise of her husband, who died on 20.12.2018.

2. Heard Mr.R.Venkatesh, learned counsel for petitioner and Mr.R.Neelakandan, learned Additional Advocate General assisted by Mr.R.Murthi, learned Government Advocate appearing for respondents 1 and 2.

3. The case of the petitioner is that she married one Ramanathan in the year 1990 and through the wedlock, there are two daughters. All of a sudden, in the year 2018, the petitioner's husband died in Canada. The death was also properly registered in Canada. On 05.02.2025, the petitioner submitted an online application before the 2/4

second respondent and sought for the legal heirship certificate. Since the same was not considered, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court.

4. On going through the records, it is seen that the names of petitioner and his two daughters/respondents 3 and 4 herein must be included in the legal heirship certificate. Hence, there shall be a direction to the second respondent to act upon the application submitted by the petitioner seeking for issuance of legal heirship certificate and issue the same, if it is otherwise in order within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
