Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus to directing the respondent to disburse the petitioner's retirement benefits arising out of his employment with the Salem Corporation, including but not limited to gratuity, Communication amounts, Earned Leave Allowance Special Officer, Allowance and Wage Arrears amounting to Rs.6,00,000/- approximately within a strict time frame fixed by this court. With consent of both parties, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. The petitioner was employed as sanitary worker in the respondent Corporation. He joined duty on 01.10.1973. He retired from service on 30.06.2014 and no disciplinary proceedings is pending against him. He made a representation dated 08.05.2015 to the respondent seeking to give terminal benefits payable to him for the service rendered by him. There is no reason for the respondent in not settling the terminal benefits.

3. At this juncture, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent Corporation submitted that the terminal benefits would be settled to the petitioner within eight weeks from today. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4. Recording the statement made by the learned Standing Counsel appearing the respondent Corporation, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
