Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the 1st respondent to pass orders on the petitioner's appeal dated 15.04.2012 within a stipulated period as fixed by this Court, after giving opportunity to the petitioner.

With consent of both parties, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
2. The petitioner was employed in the Aadhi Dharvidar Welfare Department. He was imposed with a punishment by order dated 02.04.2012, by the second respondent. The punishment was, to treat the period of suspension as penalty.

3. Thereafter, the petitioner filed an appeal dated 15.04.2012 against the aforesaid order of the first respondent. The grievance of the petitioner is that the appeal is not yet disposed of.
4. In view of the narrow prayer made, the first respondent is directed to dispose of the appeal dated 15.04.2012, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, on merits and in accordance with law. No costs.
