ORDER

Heard Mr.G.Jeremiah, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.V.Jayaprakash Narayanan, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent and with their consent, the main writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. The petitioner seeks for a mandamus to direct the respondent to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's application dated 16.12.2014 for the issuance of legal heir certificate.

3. According to the petitioner, the respondent, on receipt of the application submitted by the petitioner for grant of legal heirship certificate directed the petitioner to furnish the statement of all the five legal heirs. The petitioner after complying with the same, re-submitted the application before the respondent. However, till date, no order has been passed. Hence, he is before this Court.

4. In the light of the above, there shall be a direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 16.12.2014 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
