Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issue of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the 2nd respondent to give adequate police protection to the petitioner to cut and remove the Seema Karuvelam trees grown in petitioner's property comprised in S.No. 167/2A2, situated at Tirunavalur Village, Cuddalore District measuring to an extent of 0.44 cents by considering petitioner's representation dated 03.03.2026. O R D E R

The petitioner had sent a representation dated 03.03.2026 seeking police protection to cut and remove the Seema Karuvelam trees in his property comprised in S.No. 167/2A2, situated at Tirunavalur Village, Cuddalore District measuring to an extent of 0.44 cents. However, no action has been taken.

Learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the petitioner's complaint has been assigned CSR No. 71 of 2026 and registered on 21.01.2026. The petitioner's apprehension is that one Sethuraman, S/o. Lakshmana Pillai along with one Arun and a few henchmen are objecting to the petitioner's cutting of Seema Karuvelam trees. Now, notice has been sent to the counter petitioners as well as to the petitioner and after completion of enquiry, appropriate action will be taken.

Learned counsel for the petitioner undertakes that the petitioner will appear before the respondent Police along with necessary documents and a copy of the complaint on 27.04.2026. 2\4

The respondent Police shall ensure the presence of the counter petitioners, conduct an enquiry and complete the process. If cognizable offence is made out, then appropriate action to be taken. If the objections are unnecessary and for oblique reasons, then the respondent Police to give necessary protection to the petitioner to remove the Seema Karuvelam trees from his property.

With the above observation, the writ petition stands disposed of.
