Respondents Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for a writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to grant fee exemption to M.Tech(CITE) course for the year 2013-15 as mentioned in G.O.Ms.No.92 Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe Welfare Department dated 11.09.2012 based on the representation of the petitioner dated 13.12.2014 within a stipulated period. Heard Mr.K.Murugesan, learned counsel for the petitioner. In the light of the relief sought for by the petitioner, this writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage itself, without notice to the respondents.

2. The petitioner seeks for a direction to the respondents to grant fee exemption to him, who is pursuing M.Tech(CITE) course during the year 2013-15 in the respondent-University. According to the petitioner, in terms of G.O.Ms.No.92 Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe Welfare Department dated 11.09.2012 and G.O.Ms.No.722, Social Welfare Department dated 13.10.1977, the petitioner is entitled to fee exemption. In this regard, the petitioner has submitted a https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

representation to the respondents and it is seen that the respondents have also received by the same vide the postal acknowledgement cards enclosed. However, till date, no orders have been passed. Hence the present writ petition.

Since the writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage, the merits of the contentions raised by the petitioner are not gone into and it is left open to the respondents to decide on the entitlement of the petitioner for grant of fee exemption in terms of G.O.Ms.No.92 Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe Welfare Department dated 11.09.2012. Accordingly, there shall be a direction to the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 13.12.2014 and pass a reasoned order on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The petitioner is directed to enclose a copy of his representation dated 13.12.2014 along with a copy of this order and forward the same to the second respondent. 4.The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
