By consent, the writ petition is take up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner would submit that the dry land in Survey No.141/4 to an extent of 1.95 acres at Mummudi village, Thalaivasal post, Attur Taluk, Salem District was assigned in favour of his father by the Special Tahsildar, Attur on 15.02.1955. Ever since, his father is in possession and enjoyment of the said land. After the demise of his father, the petitioner and his brother are in possession and cultivating the land.

3. According to the petitioner, in the UDR register the extent of land has been shown as 0.56.5 hectare (1.50 acre) by reducing 45 cents in patta No.151 and New Survey No.141/6 has been assigned for the said land and the remaining 45 cents has been shown as waste land. The petitioner pointed out the said discrepancy / mistake and submitted a representation dated 25.07.2014, to the first respondent and though it was acknowledged, the first respondent in turn, has directed the second respondent to inspect the land and submit a report. In spite of that, no action has been taken, hence the petitioner has came forward to file this writ petition.

4. Heard the submissions of Mr.R.Asaithambi, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.Rm.Muthukumar, learned Government Advocate accepts notice for the respondents.

5. This Court taking into consideration the limited scope of the prayer sought for by the petitioner, without going into the merits of the representation dated 25.07.2014, directs the first respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 25.07.2014, in accordance with law after putting on notice the persons concerned and pass orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken to the petitioner as well as the persons concerned. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
