ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the 2nd respondent not to harass the petitioner under the guise of surveillance or enquiry.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that, petitioner was an accused in C.C.No.81 of 2014. After trial, this case ended in acquittal, however, 2nd respondent is frequently visiting the petitioner and harassing him. Therefore, petitioner filed this petition to direct the 2nd respondent not to harass the petitioner under the guise of enquiry.

3. In response, learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) submitted that, 2nd respondent had made only a routine check up, since petitioner is a past offender. However, petitioner is not required for any enquiry or investigation in connection with the First Information Report.

4. Considered the submissions and perused the records.

5. In view of the submissions of the learned Government Advocate

(Criminal side) that petitioner is not required for any enquiry or investigation in connection with any First Information Report, there is no need to pass orders in this case. However, in view of the acquittal of the petitioner, respondent police is directed not to unnecessarily harass the petitioner. If petitioner is required for any enquiry, respondent police is directed to follow the procedure established by law.

6. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed, with the above directions.
