Respondents Writ Petition has been filed praying for issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the second respondent to grant permission to conduct a cultural programme in Sri Mariamman Temple Festival, scheduled to be held on 03.07.2015, at Arunthathiar Street, Valapadi Taluk, Salem District, by considering petitioner's representation, dated 23.06.2015.

By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for disposal.

2. The petitioner claims to be the President of the Festival Committee of Sree Mariamman temple, at Arunthathiar Street, Valapadi Taluk, Salem District. He submitted a representation, dated 23.06.2015, to the second respondent, seeking permission to conduct a cultural programme, which includes songs and dance, in the said temple, to be held on 03.07.2015, and, since he has not been favoured with any response, he has come forward to file this Writ Petition.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that in the event of the permission being granted, there will not be any law and order problem and also no obscenity and vulgarity will be in place. Accordingly, he prays for appropriate orders.

5. This Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the second respondent to consider and dispose of the

representation of the petitioner, dated 23.06.2015, in accordance with law, and inform the decision taken to the petitioner, on or before 02.07.2015.
