Petition filed under Article 226 of the constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent to consider the petitioner's representations dated 12.3.2013, 21.08.2014 and 9.6.2015 requesting the respondent to make necessary changes in the Revenue Accounts/Records with respect to the petitioner's land in S.F.No.305/2, Perumalpattu village, Tiruvallur Taluk and District over an extent of 53 cents pursuant to the order of the assistant Settlement Officer, Chengalpattu in S.R.24 and 25/Sec.11/TVR/63 dated 17.06.1964.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. The petitioner would state that the Special Assistant Settlement Officer, Chengalpattu has granted Ryotwari patta in proceedings S.R.24 and 25/Sec.11/TVR/63 dated 17.06.1964 in favour of his father and others in respect of the land measuring 53 cents in S.F.No.305/2, Perumalpattu village, Tiruvallur Taluk and District. The petitioner's father, while he was alive, approached the respondent for making necessary changes in the revenue records. However, no action was taken. When the petitioner had come to know that the respondent did not take any action to effect changes in the revenue records, he submitted representations dated 12.03.2013 and 21.08.2014 and reminder dated 09.06.2015. Since no orders have been passed, the petitioner came forward to file this writ petition.

3. Heard the submission of the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.M.Digvijaya Pandian, learned Additional Government Pleader, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondent.

4. This Court, taking into consideration the limited scope of the prayer sought for and without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 09.06.2015 , after putting on notice to the persons concerned and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken to the petitioner as well as the persons concerned.
