ORDER

The Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the second respondent to file a Final Report in Crime No.164 of 2023 on the file of the second Respondent.

2.When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent Police produced a communication dated 18.04.2026 sent by the second respondent to the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Madhuranthakam requesting for six months time to complete the investigation. A scanned reproduction of the communication dated 18.04.2026 reads as follows:

3.In view of the above, this Court directs the second respondent Police to complete the investigation and file the final report in Crime No.164 of 2023 within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. This six months period is only an outer limit.
