O R D E R

This criminal original petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 2nd respondent police to give the police protection to the petitioner's and his family members based on the petitioner's complaint dated 02.06.2016 and representations sent by the petitioner on 02.06.2016 to the 1st Respondent.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents.

3. It is seen that the petitioner sent a representation dated 13.06.2016 to the Hon'ble Chief Minister of the State. Thereafter, he filed a petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C for a https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

direction to the respondent police to give police protection to the petitioner and his family members based on the representation.

In the considered opinion of this Court, a complaint may be lodged before the jurisdictional police under Section 154 Cr.P.C, and if it is refused to be received, a copy should be sent to the Superintendent of Police. The Chief Minister, a Constitutional Authority, cannot be expected to entertain such complaint. Hence, the criminal original petition is dismissed with liberty to the petitioner to workout his remedy in the manner known to law.
