Mr. Leonard Arul Joseph Selvam Addl.Public Prosecutor. For R1 Order The petitioner/accused has filed this Criminal Original Petition seeking to call for the records in the FIR in Crime No.51 of 2026 pending on the file of the respondent Police and to quash the same.

2. The petitioners are arrayed as accused in the above Cr.NO.51 of 2026 for the alleged offences under Sections 147, 448, 294 (b), 323, 321, 506(ii) of hte Indian Penal Code, 1860 and Section 3 of the Tamil Nadu Public Property (Prevention of Damage and Loss )Act 1992.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned counsel appearing for the 2nd respondent would submit that the dispute between the parties has been amicably settled A Joint Memo of Compromise, duly signed by the petitioner and the defacto complainant, has been filed before this Court. The parties are also present in person and have been identified by their respective counsel.

4. The learned counsel appearing for the defacto complainant would submit that in view of the settlement arrived at between the parties, the defacto complainant has no objection for quashing the FIR. The scanned copy of the joint memo compromise dated 16.02.2026 is as hereunder:

5. This Court has considered the submissions made and perused the materials placed on record. The dispute between the parties does not involve any

overriding public interest and is essentially private in nature. In view of the amicable settlement arrived at between the parties, no useful purpose would be served in keeping the criminal proceedings pending. In such circumstances, this Court is inclined to exercise its inherent powers under Section 482 Cr.P.C. to secure the ends of justice.

6. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is allowed. The FIR in Crime No.51 of 2026 on the file of the respondent Police is hereby quashed. The terms of the Joint Memo of Compromise shall form part of this order. No costs.
