The predominant grievances of the petitioner is that though the First Information Report came to be registered in the year 2017. There isn't much progress even after a lapse of almost two years.
The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the 7th and 8th accused are lawyers, who allegedly appeared as counsel for the complainant, even though the complainant did not engage them. The petitioner has also lodged a complaint against these accused before the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is aged about 77 years and in view of the delay, he is being put to hardship.

Since the grievance of the petitioner is that investigation is not being proceed expeditiously, it would be appropriate to direct the respondent herein to expedite the investigation and complete the same within the stipulated time. Furthermore, since two of accused are Advocates, it would be appropriate to have such as investigation done by a Superior Officer.
In the light of the above observations, there shall be a direction to the respondent herein to complete the investigation in Crime No.90 of 2017 within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and such investigation shall be monitored on a day to day basis by the Superintendent of Police, Salem District, having the territorial Jurisdiction over the respondent/police.
With the above observations, this Criminal Original Petition disposed of accordingly.
