ORDER
The writ petition has been filed in the nature of a mandamus seeking a direction against the respondents to pay arrears of terminal benefits and Provident Fund together with appropriate interest. It is claimed that the said amounts are fallen due on and from 29.10.2019. The petitioner had given a representation on 30.12.2024.
2. Heard learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents.
3. It is stated that the petitioner had joined the third respondent Society as Fertiliser Salesman on 01.08.1998 and had been later promoted to the post of Clerk on 01.11.1998. He retired on attaining the age of superannuation on 31.07.2019. It is claimed that the arrears have to be paid with respect to the terminal benefits. The petitioner claims that he had given a representation on 30.12.2024.
4. A direction is given to the third respondent to examine the service
register of the petitioner and determine whether any amount is due and payable to the petitioner and if so, forward his remarks to the second respondent who shall pass further orders. The entire exercise by the third and second respondents must be completed within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this Order. If the amounts are due and payable, the petitioner is entitled for appropriate interest from the date of retirement till the date of actual disbursement.
