A.No.2155 of 2024 in AC.No.158T of 2022 KRISHNAN RAMASAMY, J.

1. This application has been filed to extend the period to complete the arbitral proceedings in AC.No.158T of 2022, pending before the Arbitrator for a further period of six months.

2. Notice sent to the Respondents 1 and 2 has been served. Notice sent to the 3rd Respondent has been returned unserved with an endorsement "left".

3. The learned counsel for the Applicant submits that the private notice sent to the learned counsel, who appeared for the Respondents before the Arbitrator has been served and that the arbitral proceedings is at the stage of arguments and that the period of completion of arbitral proceedings expired by 18.01.2024 and hence, he seeks for extension of time to complete the arbitral proceedings by six months.

4. Considering the submissions of the learned counsel for the Applicant and for the reasons stated in the affidavit filed in support of this application, this Court is inclined to extend the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal by a further period of six months. Accordingly, the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal stands extended by a further period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order by the Arbitral Tribunal to complete the arbitral proceedings in AC.No.158T of 2022 and this application is ordered accordingly.
