ORDER

The petitioner is the owner of the premises in which the defacto complainant is occupying as a tenant. Claiming that the petitioner and henchmen came to his office and threatened him and his family members, Kannan, the tenant has given a complaint and the same has been registered in Crime No.543 of 2023, dated 28.11.2023. 2.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the defacto complainant, who is not paying the arrears of rent, had lodged a complaint for harassing him through the police. Hence, he prays to quash the complaint.

The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the first respondent submitted that the veracity of the complaint has been examined through footage collected from the CCTV Camera and if the allegation found in the complaint is not supported by the footage, the Police will drop the action or else, will proceed with filing of the final report. The learned counsel further submitted that 30 days time may be granted to complete the investigation. 2/4

In the light of the above fact, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent police to complete the investigation, within a period of 30 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and file a final report based on the materials collected during the investigation. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
