O R D E R

The petitioner herein is the appellant before the Principal Sessions Court, Chennai in Crl.A.No.237 of 2024. Appeal is against the order of conviction passed by the trial court on a complaint filed under Section 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act in connection with cheque issued for a sum of Rs.15,00,000/-. When application for suspension of sentence 1/3

filed, the lower Appellate Court declined to entertain it. Hence, the present petition.

2. On perusing the grounds of appeal raised before the lower Appellate Court.

3. This Court is of the view that the sentence imposed be suspended on condition to deposit a sum of Rs.3,00,000/- , being 20% of the cheque amount before the trial Court within a period of 30 days from today and on such deposit and furnishing two sureties for sum of Rs.50,000/- each, the suspension of sentence be granted till the disposal of the criminal appeal.

4. With the above directions, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
