ORDER
On 16.06.2026, representing counsel sought an adjournment and made submissions, based on which this Court passed an order. At the end of the day, the learned counsel for the petitioner requested to advance further arguments in this matter. Accordingly, the matter is listed today. The learned counsel on record has submitted his contentions and sought further time to argue the matter. Therefore, the order passed on 16.06.2026 is hereby recalled
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has duly deposited a sum of Rs. 7,82,64,108/- on 23.04.2021, Rs.1,05,35,892/- on
28.03.2002, Rs.16,50,00,000/- on 03.10.2008, with the Registry, as directed by this Court in CMP No. 2357 of 2018. As per the decree, the total amount to be recovered from the petitioner is Rs. 2,68,10,40,934/- hence, the respondent is entitled to withdraw the amount deposited before this Court as stated above. However, the Court below failed to take note of this fact. Furthermore, if the District Collector, Kancheepuram, instructs them to deposit the remaining amount, they are ready to do so, but no such instruction has been received from the District Collector to date.
3. The learned counsel for the respondents submits that a sufficient amount is not available with the Registry.
4. This Court wants to know the exact amount available under CMP No. 2357 of 2018. Hence, the Registry is directed to submit a report detailing the exact amount currently available in CMP No. 2357 of 2018 on or before 22.06.2026. Post on 22.06.2026.
