ORDER
The petitioner/defacto complainant, on whose complaint Crime No.5 of 2025 was registered, states that though the investigation culminated in the filing of a
charge sheet in Spl.S.C.No.129 of 2025, the trial has not commenced till date. Hence, the petitioner has filed the above petition.

The learned counsel for the Government had filed a status report from which it is seen that, during the course of investigation, on 06.02.2025, the Inspector of Police arrested A1 to A3, obtained their confession statements and seized a Redmi Y2 mobile phone from A3 under cover of seizure mahazar in the presence of witnesses. The accused were thereafter produced before the learned Sessions Judge, Special Court for Exclusive Trial of Cases under POCSO Act. The statement of the victim were recorded on 01.03.2025. the victims were also produced before the KMC hospital for medical examination and the opinion was obtained on 09.03.2025. On 19.03.2025, the inspector of Police forwarded the mobile phone of A3 to the Forensic Science Laboratory through proper channel for analyse and the report is still pending. A top priority letter was sent on 27.01.2026 requesting submission of the said report. For want of report, the trial in this case could not commence. The next hearing date of the case is 30.07.2026.
3. It is seen that despite the top priority request, the report has not been received till date.
4. In view of the above, the Director, Forensic Science Laboratory, Chennai is directed to ensure that the report is made ready and forwarded to the trial court on or before 15.07.2026. Thereafter, the trial court shall proceed with the trial without further delay, preferably on a day-to-day basis, and complete the trial within a period of one year from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
