Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent herein to complete and dispose of the proceedings in T.D.P. Case Nos.10/2014 and 11/2014 pending on the file of the respondent within the time stipulated by this Court.

ORDER

Mrs.M.E.Raniselvam, learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondent.

While the petitioner was working as Deputy Commercial Tax Officer, Thiruchengode, during 26.08.2012 to 26.12.2013, departmental proceedings in T.D.P. Case Nos.10/2014 and 11/2014 were initiated against him by the respondent. He is now aged about 57 years. According to him, final orders are not passed and if no final order is passed before retirement, the same would seriously affect in getting his terminal benefits. Hence, he has filed the above writ petition seeking a direction to the respondent to complete and dispose of the disciplinary proceedings within a stipulated period.

In view of the narrow prayer made, the respondent is directed to complete the proceedings in T.D.P. Case Nos.10/2014 and 11/2014 pending against the petitioner and submit a report to the appropriate authority, within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The petitioner is also directed to co-operate with the conduct of the enquiry without getting unnecessary adjournments.

The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
