ORDER

This Writ Petition (Criminal) has been filed challenging the proceedings in Na.Ka.No.13775/2017-2/M2 dated 02.03.2026 passed by the first respondent.

2. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondents submitted that the properties of the petitioners had already been attached under Section 3 of the TNPID Act vide G.O.Ms.No.131 dated 21.02.2014. It was further submitted that a public auction had been scheduled on 23.03.2026, however, the said date has since expired. Further, no auction was conducted on 23.03.2026 due to the conduct of the Tamil Nadu General Assembly Election. Hence, according to the learned Government Advocate, this writ petition (criminal) has become infructuous.

3. In view of the above submission, nothing survives for further adjudication in this writ petition. Accordingly, this Writ Petition (Criminal) is dismissed as infructuous. However, the respondents are at liberty to issue fresh

notice and proceed with the auction of the property in accordance with law. No costs. Consequently, connected writ miscellaneous petitions (criminal) are closed.
