Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, for the issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 08.03.2025 and grant police protection to the petitioner's family members, within time time frame.

O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 08.03.2025, seeking police protection for his family members.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.

3. Based on the earlier complaint lodged by the petitioner, the second respondent has already registered an FIR in Crime No.313 of 2024 for the offences under Sections 126(2), 296(2), 296B, 115(2), 118(1), 15(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 and Section 4 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act. Even then the petitioner apprehended threat to his family at the hands of the accused and as such, the petitioner submitted another representation before the first respondent on 08.03.2025 seeking police protection.

4. In view of the above, the second respondent is directed to conduct an enquiry on the complaint lodged by the petitioner dated 08.03.2025, after issuing notice to the petitioner and the counter parties, if any, and dispose of the same, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
