Respondent Prayer: This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a writ of mandamus, directing the respondent to consider the petitioner representation on 27.6.2015 for provide permission to conduct Village folk dance and other cultural programs on 29.7.2015 at Karupparayan Temple at Sirumugai Road Karupparayan Thottam, Annur Taluk Coimbatore District.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner claims to be the Dharmakartha of Arulmighu Karupparoyan Temple, situated at Sirumugai Road Karupparayan Thottam, Annur Taluk, Coimbatore District and he submitted a representation/application dated 27.06.2015 to the respondent, seeking permission to conduct Music, Dance and other cultural programme on 27.07.2015, in connection with the festival of the said temple and since, he has not been favoured with any kind of response, came forward to file this writ petition.

3. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that in the event of permission being granted to conduct the song and dance programme, there will not be any law and order problem and no vulgarity or obscenity will be there and hence, prays for appropriate orders.

4. This Court heard the submissions of Mr.R.Vijaya Kumar, learned Additional Government Pleader, who accepts notice for the respondent.

5. This Court, taking into consideration the limited scope of

the prayer sought for by the petitioner and without going into the merits of the application/representation, directs the respondent to consider the application/representation dated 27.06.2015, in accordance with law and pass orders, as expeditiously as possible and not later than 25.07.2015 and inform the decision taken to the petitioner forthwith.
