Respondent PRAYER: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to extend the in-service benefits and salary as stipend equivalent to the Government salary and to extend all consequential benefits arising thereto to the petitioners.

In view of the narrow prayer made during the hearing of the writ petition, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.
2. The petitioners are doing Post Graduate Courses in Community Medicine in Annamalai University. According to the petitioner, the second respondent-the Director of Public Health and Preventive Medicine recommended in his proceedings dated 05.11.2013 to the first respondent that the Doctors in Government service undergoing PostGraduate degree programs in various specialities at Annamalai University may be treated on par with the other Assistant Surgeons undergoing post graduation in Government Medical Colleges.
3. In these circumstances, it is stated by the learned counsel for the petitioners that respondents may be directed to pass orders on the representations dated 30.09.2013, 12.02.2014 and 03.06.2014 made by the petitioners giving benefits as recommended by the Director of Public Health and Preventive Medicine.
4. However, there is no acknowledgement for having sent the representations of the petitioners.
5. Hence, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing the petitioners to make fresh representation enclosing a copy of this order to the first respondent and in turn the first respondent is directed to pass appropriate orders in the light of the recommendation of the second respondent dated 05.11.2013, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of the fresh representation received from the petitioners. No costs. Connected MP is closed.
