Respondents PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for the issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to release the Lorry bearing Registration No.TN20AM-9714 which was seized by the 2nd respondent on 30.12.2016 and thereby consider the representation given in person dated 30.12.2016.

O R D E R
1. Issue notice. Mr.R.Venkatesh, learned Government Advocate, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.
2. With the consent of learned counsels for the parties, the writ petition is taken up for hearing and final disposal.
3. Limited grievance of the petitioner is that his representation, dated 30.12.2016, has not been considered.
4. Counsel for the petitioner says that, the petitioner's vehicle was seized by the first respondent, based on an allegation that sand has been illegally transported. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
5. It is the petitioner's case that the sand transported was for his own personal use, and therefore, the seizure was illegal.
6. Having regard to the fact that, a representation has been filed, which is pending consideration of the respondents, I am inclined to dispose of the writ petition, with a direction to the respondent no.1, to consider the aforementioned representation of the petitioner and pass a speaking order. Respondent no.1 shall also afford a personal hearing to the petitioner. For this purpose, written notice will be issued to the petitioner indicating therein the date, time and the venue of the hearing. No costs.
