Today when the matter came up for hearing, learned counsel for the petitioner produced a copy of the settlement agreement between the petitioner and the respondent, in and by which the complainant has admitted receiving the sum of Rs.12 lakhs and has agreed to drop all proceedings and compound the offences.
2. In that view of the matter, this criminal revision is disposed of on the following terms:
(i) The conviction and sentence imposed on the petitioner vide judgment in C.C.No.565 of 2019 dated 18.02.2021 by the learned Judicial Magistrate Court No.II, Namakkal and the same confirmed by judgment in C.A.No.41 of 2021 of the Court of the Special Court for Trial of Case registered under SC/ST (POA) Act, Namakkal dated 28.12.2021, are set aside and the offence is treated as compounded.
