By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal.
2. The petitioner would state that his father Mr.Ganasan died in harness on 12.09.2011 leaving behind the mother, three daughters, a son (petitioner) as well as the grandmother. The petitioner for the purpose of seeking appointment on compassionate ground, also obtained a legal heir certificate, issued by the Thasildar, Madavaram and the petitioner's mother has submitted an application dated 18.04.2012, seeking appointment to the petitioner son and the respondents, vide communication dated 23.02.2015 addressed to the office of the District Collector, Chennai stating that since 25% quota for giving appointment has got exceeded, the name of the petitioner placed under waiting list and addressed the other communication dated 09.12.2016, to the Collector of Chennai District in Letter No.6487/N2/2016, to recommend the name out of the waiting list for reserve list and however, it was not favored and the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
petitioner yet to get compassionate appointment and therefore, prays for positive order.
3. This Court heard the submission of Mr.O.Selvam, learned Government Advocate, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondent.
4. Though the petitioner prays for a larger relief, this Court in the light of the above facts and circumstances, directs the Collector of Chennai District to take note of the letter of the respondent dated 23.02.2015, bearing letter No.2774/N2/2012 as well as letter No.6487/N2/2016 dated 09.12.2016, and operate the reserve list and send the name to the respondent within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and that apart, the respondent is also directed to consider the representation dated 02.01.2017 submitted by the petitioner on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken to the petitioner.
