PRAYER - This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st to 4th respondents to cancel the Patta Nos. 2589, 754 and 48 issued for the lands comprised in S.F. no 462/1A 462/1B and 462/1C respectively, of Maruthur Village, Mettupalayam Taluk, Coimbatore District.

Writ Petition has been filed to direct the 1st to 4th respondents to cancel the Patta Nos.2589, 754 and 48, issued in favour of the 5th - 8th respondents respectively for the properties morefully disclosed in the affidavit filed in support of this Writ Petition.
2.According to the petitioner, she is a neighbouring land owner. She states that properties for which patta has been issued in favour of the private respondents namely 5 - 8 falls in a "water body" and therefore, the patta ought not to have been issued. The petitioner has filed supporting documents along with this Writ Petition to substantiate her case that the properties for which patta has been issued in favour of the private respondents is a "water body".
3.This Court is not expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's representation. Since no adverse orders are passed as against the respondents 5 to 8, notice to the respondents 5 to 8 in this Writ Petition is dispensed with by this Court.
4.For the foregoing reasons, this Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the 3rdrespondent to pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law on the petitioner's representation dated 21.07.2025, seeking for cancellation of Patta Nos.2589, 754 and 48, issued in favour of the private respondents for the properties morefully disclosed in the prayer to this Writ Petition, after giving due consideration to the supporting documents produced by the petitioner and after hearing the objections of the respondents 5 to 8 and any other third party whom the 3rd respondent deem fit to enquire, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. However, there shall be no order as to costs.
