ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of a Mandamus seeking a direction to pay interest at 12% per annum towards the belated settlement of terminal benefits like Provident Fund, Death cum Retirement Gratuity, Encashment of Earned Leave, Surrender Leave and Commuted Value of Pension to the petitioners. In this connection, the petitioners had given representations on various dates.

2.Heard both sides.

3.A direction is issued to the respondents to examine the representations of the petitioners and it would only be in the interest of the respondents that necessary interest component is paid immediately to the

petitioners, as otherwise the liability would only increase. The respondents are also directed to pay 6% interest per annum to the petitioners and this would be effective from the date of retirement till the date of actual disbursement. The entire procedure be completed within a period of eight months weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 4.With the above observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
