ORDER : The Court Made the following order :-

(1) The petitioner who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 17.02.2021 for the offences punishable under Sections 294[b], 353, 294[A], 307 of IPC read with Section 5, 7[3] of L.R.Act, in Crime No.256/2021 on the file of the respondent police, seek bail. (2)The case of the prosecution is that on 17.02.2021, when the respondent police was on patrolling duty, the petitioner was found selling banned lottery tickets to the public and on seeing the police, the public ran away and the petitioner scolded the patrolling party in filthy language and also attempted to assault the Sub Inspector of Police using a wooden stick. (3)The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an innocent person and is in judicial custody from 17.02.2021 and hence, seeks bail.

(4)The learned Additional Public Prosecutor on instructions, submitted that the petitioner has been detained under Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982.

(5)A perusal of the order dated 2403.2021 in CMP.No.1963/2021 by the learned Principal Sessions Judge, Villupuram, reveals that the petitioner has got four previous cases of similar nature registered by Kallakurichi Police Station in Crime Nos.86/2020, 2179/2020, 2181/2020 and 2182/2020 and further that the petitioner has already been detained under the Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982. Therefore, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.
