This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to call for the records relating to FIR No.549 of 2017, registered by B-5, Manavalanagar Police Station and quash the same.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the first respondent.

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the first respondent has submitted that the respondent completed the investigation and filed a final report before the learned Judicial Magistrate No.II, Thiruvallur on 24.06.2018 and it is pending for taking cognisance. Therefore, the prayer sought for in this petition has become infructuous and hence, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. However, the learned Judicial Magistrate-II, Thiruvallur, is directed to take cognisance on the final report filed by the first respondent within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
