This application is filed by learned AG&OT seeking permission to donate 20 numbers of sewing machines worth Rs.1,20,000/- by purchasing them from Murthy Marketing at No.161/61A, MTH Road, Villivakkam, Chennai 49 to Sri Sarada Math, No.15/7 Raghaviah Road, Chennai-17 and to make part payment
of Rs.40,000/- from and out of the accumulated funds of Trust Estate of Madras Veerabadhra Swamy Temple relating to FY 2019-20. 2.From the report filed by learned AG&OT, it is seen that the President of Sri Sarada Math, No.15/7, Raghaviah Road, Chennai, has sent a letter to learned AG&OT to donate 20 sewing machines among other articles to them to serve the community. The predecessor of the present incumbent had earlier inspected the Centre and found that Vocational Training is given for women by the Math authorities. Apart from tailoring, embroidery and jewel making, various other activities are found.
3.This Court is convinced that donating 20 sewing machines to the Organization like Sri Sarada Math, will certainly promote women empowerment. The request to donate 20 sewing machines for the welfare of women is within the object of the Trust Estate which is referred in the application.
4.In the report, learned AG&OT has stated that the surplus funds which are available in the following Trust Estates need to be spent within five years, i.e., before 31.03.2025 to save tax.
