ORDER

This writ petition was filed seeking a writ of mandamus to direct the respondents to draw a seniority list of the SubInspectors recruited for the year 2001-2002 based on the marks secured in the training and consequently direct the respondent Nos.1 to 4 to place the petitioners in the appropriate position in the seniority list and promote them to the post of Inspector of Police (Taluk) based on seniority list drawn with all consequential benefits.

2. This writ petition was kept pending in order to comply the direction given by this Court on 27.06.2017 to draw the final seniority list and as such seniority list has now been drawn which has also been challenged in many writ petitions filed today by some of the persons aggrieved.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioners submits that in view of the fact that final seniority list has been drawn by the respondent concerned the petitioners wants to withdraw this writ petition and the same be disposed of as infructuous and the petitioners be given liberty to challenge the same if aggrieved.

4. Considering the fact that final seniority list has been drawn in pursuance of the direction of this Court, as nothing survives in this writ petition, this Court disposes of this writ petition as infructuous keeping the petitioners' right reserved in case of challenging the final seniority list.
