Order (1) The above writ petition is filed by the petitioner for a writ of mandamus to direct the respondent to consider his representation dated 27.01.2026, for disbursement of his retirement and monetary benefits within the time to be stipulated by this Court.
(2) Ms.Kavya, learned Standing counsel accepts notice on behalf of the respondent.
(3) With the consent of the learned counsels on either side, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.
(4) The case of the petitioner in brief is that, he joined the respondent Corporation as a Driver on 16.02.1992 and after rendering an unblemished service of 30 years, he was permitted to retire on 30.04.2022. The grievance of the petitioner is that, till date the respondent Corporation has not settled his retiral benefits. The petitioner submitted a representation dated 27.01.2026 to the respondent herein and since the said representation did not evoke any response, the petitioner left with no other option, had approached this Court by filing the above writ petition for the aforesaid relief.
(5) Heard both sides and perused the materials placed on record. (6) Though the petitioner has prayed for a larger relief, this Court, considering the facts and circumstances of the case and without going
into the merits of the petitioner's claim, directs the respondent to consider the claim of the petitioner dated 27.01.2026, on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
