..Respondents Habeas Corpus Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus directing the respondents to secure the detenue Lokeswari d/o.Balamurugan, aged about 16 years and produce her before this Court and hand over custody to the petitioner. O R D E R

[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J] This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to secure the detenue Lokeswari d/o.Balamurugan, aged about 16 years and produce her before this Court and hand over custody to the petitioner.

2. On 14.06.2021, we passed the following order: 'It is the case of the petitioner that, his daughter Lokeswari, aged 16 years, went missing from 26.03.2021 and that the police are not taking effective steps to secure her.

2. It is seen that on a complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Pattabiram P.S.Crime No.74 of https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

2021 for "girl missing" was registered on 26.03.2021 and investigation is in progress.

3.In view of the above, we direct the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Avadi, to monitor the investigation in Pattabiram P.S.Crime No.74 of 2021 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the detenue is secured, she shall be produced before the jurisdictional Magistrate under intimation to the petitioner. On such production, the learned Magistrate shall pass appropriate orders with regard to the custody of the detenue.

Post the matter on 12.07.2021.'

Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the detenue Lokeswari was secured by the police on 18.01.2022 and was handed over to the Child Welfare Committee, Thiruvallur, who, after conducting enquiry, handed over the detenue Lokeswari to her parents.

4. In the aforestated circumstances, nothing survives for further adjudication in this petition.
