..Respondent(s) Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to call for the records made in Letter No.C1/ 18206 / 2023 /2 dated 20.03.2023 passed by the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority, Egmore, Chennai- 8, the Second Respondent herein and to quash the same as illegal and to direct the Respondents to permit the Petitioners to live peacefully in their resident at Metha Nagar 4th West Street, Kuntrathur, Chennai in their respective house without threat of eviction or demolition of their houses to secure the ends of justice. ORDER

This writ petition has been filed challenging the order of the 2nd respondent dated 20.03.2023 and seeking to quash the same, with a consequential direction to the respondents to permit the petitioners to reside peacefully in their respective houses situated at Metha Nagar 4th West Street, Kuntrathur, Chennai, without threat of eviction or demolition , thereby securing the ends of justice.

2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners would submit that the petitioners had made a representation dated 07.12.2022 to the 2nd and 3rd respondents requesting them to drop the proposal road-widening project. As the said representation was not considered, the petitioners filed W.P No.1768 of 2023, and this Court, by its order dated 25.01.2023 directed the 2nd and 3rd respondents to consider the representation and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law. Pursuant thereto, the impugned order came to be passed. 3.However, the learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that this Court may permit the petitioners to work out their remedy in the manner known to law.

4.Recording the said submission, the writ petition is disposed of by granting liberty to the petitioners to approach the competent authority and work out their remedy in the manner known to law. Consequently, W.P No.12596 of 2023 is ordered and W.P No.12598 of 2023 is closed. No costs. 09-06-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order UMA
