The Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, forbearing the respondents from calling for tenders and award contracts for works to be done in the Kumalankulam Village Panchayat limit without consulting and obtained permission from the Village Panchayat President. 2.Learned Government Advocate appearing for the 1st respondent has produced a copy of the circular issued by the Commissioner of Rural Development that any work under the MGNREGS to be carried out and the same shall be carried out only after the approval of the concerned Panchayat. 3.Such view of the matter, no further order is required in this petition.

The Writ Petition stands disposed of accordingly. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
