ORDER

This criminal original petition has been filed to direct the respondent to alter the offence under section 4 of Women Harassment Act and Sections 11, 12 of POSCO Act in crime No.2111 of 2015 on the file of the respondent and also direct the respondent to file a final report.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

3. It is seen that the respondent police registered a case in Crime No.2111 of 2015 against the accused under Sections 341, 323, 294(b), 506(i) I.P.C. The victim, in this case, is said to be less than 18 years of age on the date of incident viz., 04.07.2015. It is the allegation of the defacto-complainant that the accused was compelling the minor victim girl to marry him and when she refused, he seems to have attacked her.

4. Under such circumstances, the respondent police is directed to examine the invocation of provisions of POSCO Act against the accused, if it is found that the victim girl was less than 18 years of age on the date of the alleged incident.
