ORDER
Mr.T.Chandrasekaran, learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 1 and 3. With the consent of the learned counsels on either side, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal. 2.Since no adverse order is passed against the 2nd respondent / LIC, notice to the 2nd respondent is dispensed with.
3.The petitioner has filed the above writ petition seeking a mandamus to direct the respondents to pay a sum of Rs.3 lakhs as per the proceedings of the 3rd respondent dated 03.07.2025 with 12% interest with effect from 08.08.2017. 4.The case of the petitioner is that subsequent to the demise of her father, a Overhead Tank Operator, while in service, the petitioner applied for reimbursement of the Group Insurance Scheme amount. Despite several representations made, the petitioner was informed that insurance premium amount has not been credited to the Government account. Though the 3rd respondent, vide his proceedings dated 03.07.2025, sanctioned disbursement of Rs.3 lakhs to the petitioner, the said amount has not been disbursed till date. Hence the writ petition.
5.Heard both sides and perused the records.
6.Admittedly, the petitioner has contributed to the Group Insurance and further the 3rd respondent by proceedings dated 03.07.2025, also sanctioned
disbursement of the sum of Rs.3 lakhs to the petitioner. Therefore, a mandamus is issued directing the 3rd respondent to disburse the aforesaid amount of Rs.3 lakhs to the petitioner, along with the current bank rate of interest, to the petitioner, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
